GUIDELINES
A. Description

The Center for the Humanities and Public Sphere will fund the registration fee for up to ten graduate students in the humanities and social sciences to attend the virtual Academic Career Success Conference hosted by Beyond the Professoriate on September 26, 2020. All events are live and led by professionals working at research institutions and academic publishers. The online conference aims to provide graduate students in the humanities and social sciences with strategies for writing and publishing, building a career during Covid-19, and applying for grants and postdocs.

B. Eligibility and Selection Process

To be eligible, UF graduate students must be enrolled in a program in the humanities or social sciences.

Should there be more than ten applicants, selection of students for funding will be assessed according to:

  1. Graduate students who have not previously received an internal award through the Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere,
  2. Graduate students who are further along in their course of study and can best utilize all conference events per the submitted CV, and/or
  3. Considerations of composition of funded graduate students from across disciplines.

C. Deliverable

Graduate students who will receive funding for the conference registration must complete a short survey about their conference experience within a week after the conference has completed.
